Turning Point of the Revolution

~The Battle of Saratoga, and Two
Other Minor Battles~

When: Fall of 1777
Where: Saratoga, New York
Progress of War: The British were excelling in most of the battles, and without another major win, the Americans might have had to surrender.
During the Battle: The British had a three way plan, to go to Oriskany, New York, then south of there, and then at Saratoga. Even though Howe and Burgoyne were great leaders they lost at all three places.
Who Won:The American Continental Army.
Importance of the Outcome: This was the turning point in the American Revolution. This was a great point of the war for the Americans because the French saw they won a major battle- Saratoga. This led the French from watching on the sidelines, to fighting on the battlefields with the Americans and against the British.
